Chocolate Chip Scones

Chocolate Chip Scones

These scones are lovely and crunchy on the outside but moist on the inside. They have just the right amount of milk chocolate chips to add a bit of sweetness.
Servings 12 scones


For Egg Wash

  • 1 Egg
  • Splash Milk


  • Preheat the oven to 170°°C
  • Mix together the flour, salt and baking powder
  • Add the butter and mix until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs
  • Add the milk, eggs, vanilla and sugar and stir until fully combined
  • Mix in the chocolate chips and bring together to form a dough
  • Pat dough on to a lightly floured surface (thickness of your average kitchen knife)
  • Using a biscuit cutter, cut out 12 scones and transfer to a parchment lined baking tray

For Egg Wash

  • Mix together the egg and milk
  • Brush the top of the scones with the wash
  • Bake at 170°C for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and well-risen


Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Once fully cooled, store in an airtight container.
